Waste Management Strengthening– Municipality of Garabito

In collaboration with the Municipality of Golfito, Geolupa carried-out a Solid Waste Characterization and Generation Rate Study for the municipality. Unlike other projects, this initiative included a technical training phase for municipal staff, aimed at transferring knowledge and building local capacity to carry out such studies independently in the future. The team was also trained in implementing corrective measures, and an official procedure was developed to enforce fines on individuals who dispose of waste in unauthorized areas—promoting more efficient and responsible waste management across the municipality.
